The Tina River Hydropower Project (TRHP) aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the Solomon Islands by constructing a 15-megawatt hydropower plant that will increase the amount of renewable energy in the Honiara national grid. It is the first Public-Private Partnership in the Solomon Islands used to deliver a major infrastructure project.
Task:
We were engaged to conduct a Mid Term Review of the Community Benefits Sharing Pilot (CBSP) associated with the TRHP.
The Mid Term Review objectives included:
examining implementation progress,
making recommendations for adjustment, and
reviewing the project strategy and its risk to sustainability.
“Rebecca is outstanding. Her knowledge of social impact assessment & community safety is detailed & she is always seeking new information on trends, research & outcomes. She brings a committed focus on equity, including gender & socio-economic, to all her work.
Rebecca has great communication & can work to rapid timelines while still delivering a high quality of work & is used to working in ambiguous project phases where there are a lot of unknowns.
Her pragmatism is a bonus in these situations. Rebecca worked with our team to deliver comprehensive Social Impact Assessments in short timeframes.”
